Monica Hernandez is a Leadership Consultant for the Region 18 Education Service Center specializing in Accountability & iLead support.  She also supports the regional implementation of the iLEAD Values-Based Student Leadership Initiative.  Prior to joining Region 18, Monica served students in Alief ISD, Midland ISD, and IDEA Public Schools.  She has served in a variety of roles ranging from teacher, ESL/Bilingual instructional coach, District Testing Coordinator, Executive Director of Accountability, and Principal.  Throughout her 18 years in education, Monica has been dedicated to ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education.  Ms. Hernandez earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and her master’s degree from the University of Houston.
