Special Education Liaisons

The Region 18 Special Education Liaisons are part of statewide network of special education professionals that work with Texas Education Agency (TEA) to assist districts and charter schools in the improvement of addressing educational outcomes. This guidance is through the connection of resources and supports across Texas to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.

ESC Special Education Support Liaisons directly support and provide training to districts in the following: Differentiated Monitoring and Support (DMS), Results Driven Accountability (RDA), Significant Disproportionality (SD), Cycllical & Targeted Monitoring, Strategic Support Plans (SSP), Corrective Action Plan (CAP), State Performance Plans (SPP), Folder Review, Self-Assessment, and Legal Framework.

The Strategic Integration Liaison (SIL) project is to improve and sustain student outcomes through MTSS and integrated classroms-level change by providing targeted and ongoing support, coaching, and technical assistance to LEA cross-functional leadership teams through implementation science, executive coaching, and resources that are available.
